Swansea Historical Society Arts in the Parks

Local artist Bianca Lakoseljac and the Swansea Historical Society are pleased to announce an "Authors' Symposium" which will take place in High Park on Sunday, August 27, 2017, starting at 4 pm and finishing about 6 pm.  The event is being held under the auspices of the City or Toronto's "Arts in the Parks" programme.  We hope to see you there.  There will also be an opportunity to hear Bianca at the December 6, 2017, Swansea Historical Society meeting, when she will be the featured speaker.

In honour of Canada's 150th birthday, a selection of distinguished local writers will read excerpts from their work in Toronto's historic High Park. All are welcome! The guest of honour, Canada's Parliamentary Poet Laureate George Elliott Clarke, will kick off the free event. Authors who are scheduled to read include: George Elliott Clarke, Melanie Mah, Neil Ross, Danila Botha Vernon, Michelle Alfano, Andrew Borkowski, David DePoe, Angie Littlefield, Will O'Hara, Bruce Meyer, Kevin Hardcastle, and the Event Coordinator, Bianca Lakoseljac. Enter the park through the gates on Parkside Drive opposite High Park Boulevard and continue west. Area 26, which is 100 metres on the left, contains permanent seating under cover for approximately 50 people.
