MPP Cheri DiNovo’s 7th Annual Community Appreciation Gala

June 14 — Cheri DiNovo, MPP for Parkdale-High Park, hosted her 7th Annual Community Appreciation Gala on Tuesday, June 14th, at Lithuanian House to once again recognize the invaluable contributions volunteers and local small businesses make to the riding.

“Parkdale-High Park is, in my opinion, the best place in which to live and work because of individuals who have a passion for improving our community. Yearly, I hold my Community Appreciation Gala to recognize the contributions of these outstanding residents,” DiNovo said.

This year local neighbourhood and resident associations were recognized for the exemplary contributions they have made and continue to make representing residents’ interests and enhancing the local community.

DiNovo honoured volunteers from each association with a recognition certificate, as well as one new business from each of the local Business Improvement Areas. DiNovo remarked, “These small businesses enhance our neighbourhoods and make Parkdale – High Park a fabulous shopping destination.”

DiNovo also recognized Tish Carnat, a long-time ESL teacher and community organizer in the Parkdale community who has been instrumental in cultivating the Milky Way Garden and promoting the Tibetan community.

The incredible performance by children and youth from the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre and the delicious meal were thoroughly enjoyed by all of the more than 200 guests in attendance.
