On July 10, 2010 Cheri was a speaker at the rally at Queen’s Park calling for the oversight of the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA). The rally was also in support of Bill 60 (Hershey’s Bill), which Cheri tabled as a Private Member’s Bill in May. Bill 60 calls for the Breed Specific Legislation (BSL) to be removed from the Dog Owners Liability Act.

CELEBRATING THE DALAI LAMA’S 75TH BIRTHDAY.

On July 3, 2010 Cheri joined the Tibetan community at the Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre (TCCC) for the 75th birthday celebrations of the Dalai Lama. Cheri spoke to a crowd of over 4000 people and committed to a donation of $5000 in support of the renovations of the centre.

Cheri attended Canada Day celebrations at the Swansea Legion.

ANNUAL SPRING/SUMMER LEVEE

The 2nd annual levee was a great success with over 300 members of the community in attendance. Cheri honoured local volunteers and recognized 5 new small businesses from the 5 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) in the riding. The levee featured performances by the High Park Choir and the Tibetan Performing Arts group.
